I had recently taken a bagel out of the toaster, put in on a plate and was about to put cream cheese on it. The bagel was so hot when trying to hold it still with a few fingers. I came up with an idea of plastic stand that would hold both halves of the bagel in place while trying to the topics of your choice. It would be a flat sheet of plastic, not much longer than 2 halves of a bagel side by side. Welded onto the base would be two small cups that would fit the bottom of the bagels into it. These cupped bowls would not completely engulf the bagels, but merely fit the bottom half in.
The bagel halves would completely stay in place fresh out of the toaster and would be ready to be covered in cream cheese, all while your fingers are free from getting burnt.
