Since sharing a refrigerator with all of my roommates back at college, I have tried to think of ways to cut down on space. I used to always lovehaving homemade sandwiches for lunch with crisp lettuce, fresh tomatoes, warm toasted bread and sliced turkey and cheese. Since it is hard to keep a giant head of lettuce fresh for only one person for long and tomatoes firm for a long period of time, I have not been able to enjoy making a sandwich like I used to. My idea was inspired by Hillshire Farm's packaging of deli meat in tupperware containers in airtight bags.

I propose that there be 5 individual airtight bags in there that contain enough deli mean, sliced cheese, lettuce and tomato slices for one sandwich. Imagine waking up in the morning prepare your lunch for work, school or just a plain hectic schedule and not having to cut up any ingredients and worrying about finding bags that will fit them all. You could just pull out a bag, tear the plastic corners apart to release the air tight seal and place them all on top of the bread of your choice. Children could even then make their own sandwich on their own and feel more independent since they don't need you to cut anything with a knife.

There are so many possibilities you could do with this. You could do your basics of turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, an Italian sub and have a medley of deli meat in each package. It would save money for consumers because they would not have to buy and store all sorts of packages.
